Why I Am Running
I am running for Planning Board because I feel it is time for a change of representation. On a Board that has long been led by the same members, new and qualified voices with diverse backgrounds are needed. With 22 years of professional experience, eight of those as Franklin's Town Planner, I will act in the best interest of our community. I will add an experienced and highly-knowledgeable voice to a Board that needs fresh and original ideas. My priority would be representing the residents of Franklin.
Planning and Construction Manager
2016 - Current
After 8 years as Franklin's Town Planner, I was presented with an opportunity to take on a role that allowed me to use my knowledge and expertise as a planner but also expand my project management skills to manage construction projects for The Kraft Group (TKG) at Gillette Stadium.
At TKG I regularly engage with a myriad of professions and trades from local and state officials, architects, and engineers to contractors and site developers to see a project developed from the permitting review stage, through construction.
My role at TKG allows me to continue to broaden my knowledge in the field of planning through regular interactions with State and local permitting agencies but also get hands-on experience with project review and implementation through management of a variety of construction related activities.
Franklin Town Planner
2007 - 2015
During my time in Franklin, I developed a deep understanding regarding all aspects of the Planning Board and other municipal functions. I wrote, and assisted in the writing of, numerous zoning bylaws, Town planning documents, & regularly acted as a dedicated liaison between the Town and residents.
I am well versed in rules & regulations, site plans & conservation documents, special permits & subdivisions, site plan decisions, zoning bylaws & design guidelines.
Board Member of the Franklin Downtown Partnership
2016 - 2019
As a former member of the Franklin Downtown Partnership, I participated in the planning of many events that benefit the community of Franklin. Serving as the Co-Chair of the Strawberry Stroll, volunteering numerous years to assist with the Harvest Festival and attending Town meetings to represent the Franklin Downtown Partnership when support was needed for initiatives that would benefit the revitalization of Franklin’s Downtown.
Co-Chair of the Energy & Sustainable Development Committee,
495/ MetroWest Partnership
Activity in this organization allows me to stay up to date on current industry standards which would help me to better evaluate plans and projects before the Planning Board.
